Mind you, this is not to suggest, Meditation is the only way or there is only one kind of meditation, that will take us on the path of salvation, not necessarily of the spiritual kind.
Mindfulness has similarities with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) that makes us more equipped to deal with emotions. It allows us to observe our thoughts and feelings, anticipating and calibrating our reactions to be able to retain balance.
I have often wondered with a great deal of admiration how great leaders manage to be focussed (on a goal) while staying in the present.
